Front doors built to order in Houston
Knockety is a family-run front door manufacturer in Houston, Texas. Matthew Schwarz founded it on July 8, 2019. Today about 150 people, including the craftsmen in our Houston shop, build custom wood and fiberglass front doors to order and ship them free to homes across the continental U.S.
How a Knockety door is built
Every door is built after you order it:
- Wood doors go to millwork, where the slab is laid up, cut to size and machined for bore holes and cutouts. Fiberglass doors are trimmed and machined on a CNC, where the fiberglass skins are applied.
- The finishing section applies the finish.
- The glazing line installs and seals the glass.
- Prehung doors get their jambs, header, sill, weatherstripping, hinges and hardware.
Custom-built doors take about 5 weeks: 4 weeks to build in Houston, then about 1 week in delivery. Quick Ship doors, hardware and samples arrive in about 1 week.
Wood and fiberglass, built to last
Our wood doors are solid mahogany or knotty alder. Our fiberglass doors come in two tiers, FiberCraft Premium and FiberCraft Pro, with a wood-grain texture and stained-wood finishes. Most fiberglass models are impact rated; a design rep will confirm yours. Doors with glass use double-pane glass, included at no extra cost.
You choose the size (32 to 36 inches wide, 80 or 96 inches tall), swing, glass, finish and whether it comes prehung. Shop wood front doors or shop fiberglass front doors.
Why buy direct from Knockety
